Perrier’s Bounty Review

Michael McCrea is having a pretty tough day. He wakes up with a couple of thugs in his room to remind him he owes a gangster named Perrier money and has four hours before it’s due. If he doesn’t pay up, they’ll break two bones—his choice (fingers don’t count). He comes across his father who informs him he’s dying. The girl who lives downstairs (and Michael has a thing for) is distraught over her cheating boyfriend. He takes part in a robbery to get the money, but his partners stiff him. When the thugs come back, there is a scuffle and one of them ends up dead. So now Perrier puts a price on Michael’s head and the chase is on.

Perrier’s Bounty is comedy at its darkest. Michael is likable enough, but he really is a bit of a loser. Everything that happens to him seems to be the result of someone else’s action, but the blame falls on him. His haplessness is what makes this film a comedy, even though by the end of the day the stack of bodies would be worthy of a Quentin Tarantino film.

Robin Hood Movie Review

Everyone knows the story of Robin Hood. Robin of Loxley returns from the Crusades to steal from the rich and give to the poor, split arrows in twain, and wear suggestively large feathers in his hat. But not Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, because all that stuff is a bit cartoonish. Once Mel Brooks and a cartoon fox have covered a subject, Ridley Scott decides it’s time to go in another direction.

That’s why Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood is gritty and realistic. Originally Robin Longstride (played by a very staunch Russell Crow), our hero returns from the Crusades and travels to Nottingham as a favor to a dying man, Robert of Loxley, who asks Robin to return his father’s sword. Upon arriving at the beleaguered hamlet of Nottingham, Robert’s father, Sir Walter Loxley, decides that Robin should take his son’s place, at least for the sake of appearances. As Robin settles into his new life bringing prosperity back to Nottingham, an English traitor, Godfrey (Mark Strong), is leading a battalion of French troops, sacking villages in the name of King John, and drawing closer to Nottingham. No one seems to wonder why the king’s men speak French.

Zachary Quinto takes a two years break from Star Trek

Star Trek that appeared in 2009 has not failed us, and as movies of its weight deserve to receive a sequel, it would be preferred for the main actors to take their seats. Unfortunately, one of the essential characters of the movie said he needs to take a break from Star Trek. We are talking about Zachary Quinto, the actor which interpreted Capitan Spook brilliantly.

“I leave behind Star Trek for at least two years, no movie, no convention, nothing for a while”. Declared Quinto for Wired.

Star Trek: The Next Door or how the second part can be called after all has received a launching date – 29 June 2012 – more than two years distance, so it would seem that Zachary has enough time for the pause he is planning. But, taking into consideration that he is one of the movie’s main characters, for making possible this launch, filming should begin before January 2012.
