Forbes: Avatar’s record is disputable
Tuesday marked the day in which James Cameron surpassed his own movie, Titanic, which 12 years ago became the movie with the highest returns of all time. Now Avatar was designated the king of box office, but the Forbes revue doesn’t agree with this performance of the 3D movie, taking into consideration the inflation, it isn’t by far the movie with the highest returns.
First, the Avatar has the advantage to run in 3D format – this meaning that the public spends an extra 3$ for a ticket than usually. Even the tickets for a 2D format are more expensive than never. According to Association of Cinematographs Owners, medium price of a ticket was of 7,18 $, with 56% more than the price in 1997 when Titanic was rolling in cinematographs.
When we stay to calculate the money to their actual value, things aren’t exactly as pinkish as they would seem for Avatar.
